Here is a sample page of how I develop a rough sketch into a
finished illustration. The images below are of a
commission, they illustrate the stages in which I work and
I hope you find them helpful.
No matter whether you know exactly what you want or you've
only a few notes and a rough idea - I am more then happy to make
suggestions and have experience at working with both.
First, I will sketch up a rough drawing going by the details
you provide me and send you the sketch via a standard jpg
attachment unless stated otherwise. This is to check I've
interpreted your idea and you are happy for me to
continue. As you can see from the first sketch image
(stage 1), some
slight changes needed to be made. I'm happy to make
changes in these rough stages as they can easily be
corrected.
Next, I'll draw in tidier lines, add a light colour wash and
check with you again that your happy, upon which I will continue
till the illustration is finished updating you with my progress.
I work by sending the art as a scanned image via email or cd
- whichever is convenient. I only send originals for
colour match, printing purposes.
Contracts, copyright and payment methods and details vary
from project to project and is something I deal with between
myself and the individual client through email.
